Common Dental Emergencies

Toothache:

Rinse your mouth with warm water. Use dental floss to gently remove any debris. Do not place aspirin directly on the gums or teeth, as it can cause irritation.

Chipped or Broken Tooth:

Save any broken pieces.
Rinse your mouth with warm water.
Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.

Knocked-Out Tooth:

Handle the tooth by the crown (top) and avoid touching the root.
Rinse the tooth gently with water, if dirty, but do not scrub it.
Try to reinsert the tooth into the socket, if possible.
If not, store the tooth in a container of milk or saliva and seek immediate dental attention.

Loose Tooth:

Try to gently reposition the tooth to its normal alignment.
Bite down on a piece of gauze or a moist tea bag to keep it in place.
Seek dental care as soon as possible.

Lost Filling or Crown:

Save the filling or crown.
Use dental cement, dental adhesive, or sugar-free gum to temporarily reattach the crown.
Avoid using regular glue.

Abscess or Swelling:

Rinse your mouth with a mild saltwater solution.
Use a cold compress to reduce swelling.
Seek immediate dental attention.
